My name is Jessica Weber, I live in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with my wonderful husband, Matt & Son, Liam. I was born and raised right where I decided to settle with my own Family, my ancestors have actually been here for close to 400 years. And yes that's makes my Family one of the Founders of the Shore.
I met my husband when I was in 10th Grade at James M Bennett High School. He was only in 9th grade but we had a cooking class together of all things. I met him on the first day of class through a mutual friend of ours. Matt's Family differs from mine in they are all from different areas throughout our nation. He had just moved to Salisbury about a month or so before school started and tried out for our High School football team, where he met many of my friends that I had grown up with.
The first time we met I actually was in to another boy at our school so I didn't give Matt even a second look. A couple months went by and we became very close friends. I helped him with girl advice and he did the same for me with guys. I was sitting at my Grandmothers house one night texting him and she said, "You two might just be friends, but every time he texts you, you light up." Still in denial, I said "No, we are just friends."
January of the same school year, I finally gave Matt the best advice yet and that was to ask me out! He did and the rest is history. We have now been together for 9 years and are one of the happiest couples that I know.
In January 2009, Matt asked me to marry him on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at night in evening wear. In June 2011, after we both graduated from college and had bought our first home, we were married outside on the Wicomico River, where my ancestors have been swimming, fishing, admiring, and probably married on for as long as it was inhabited by the European populations. We have had a truly magical life.
In September 2009, Matt professed his life to our savior Jesus Christ! Even though I had many years before, I had never gotten baptized. So on September 20th 2009, we were baptized together side by side. We have been living by Gods word ever since and God has blessed us tenfold for it!
I went through the career phase rather quickly and very suddenly. From the time I was 19 until I was 24, I owned two businesses and had a career with a local non-profit helping other aspiring entrepreneurs find success in starting their own businesses. I was truly happy with my life and my calling. I was excited about my work and loved going to work everyday. As I have been recently called by a business contact that now works with my husband, "She is a little spit fire."
Matt and I started trying to conceive our first child not long after we were married in October 2011. We tried everything but couldn't seem to get pregnant. In August 2012, I got very sick, I had two ovarian cysts, one ruptured within me and I also found out I have a faulty urethra which put me on a daily pill to just keep it working semi properly. It seemed hopeless that with my health that I would ever be able to get pregnant. We had also been slacking with going to Church and keeping up with our relationship with God because we were so wrapped up in controlling everything ourselves.
In September 2012, we renewed our Faith in God and gave our worries to him. Within days of our new commitment, I was pregnant!!! We were so ecstatic!!!!
From the beginning I was happy but at the same time I felt like something was wrong. Everyone told me that I was just over thinking things. Not soon after I found out i was pregnant, I started having complications and I found out I was carrying twins but one of the twins I was miscarrying. I could see her on the screen fading away from her mama. At that point, my perfect little life seemed to be fading away. I was out on bed rest for a week but soon returned to work going full force but with a heavy heart!
I turned to God for reassurance and asked him to pull me as close to him as I could be. I asked him to make me into the best Mother, Wife, and person that he wanted me to be. And he responded by telling me to quit my job, so I put in in December that I would not be returning to work after the baby was born. I didn't really understand why except I knew that sometimes my job pulled me away from what was really important in life. I was living a semi superficial life and I knew that it wasn't right.
By January I was starting to feel better about my pregnancy and was actually very excited again!!! I went with Matt to find out what our little peanut would be and we found out he was going to be Liam Eli Weber. But we also found out that my placenta was completely covering my cervix giving me complete placenta previa.
Without going through my entire spiel that you can read on my other blog The Webers Peanut. I had a horrible pregnancy from then on. 11 bleeds and scares that my baby wasn't going to make it! Week 27 I was put on complete bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy and on week 32 I hemorrhaged almost losing my life to give birth via c-section to an eight week early preemie.
Liam spent 3 weeks and 2 days in the NICU at PRMC. It was the hardest time of my life. Thankfully I stayed in the hospital for 5 days after giving birth because I had lost so much blood. I was just down the hall from my sweet boy!
Liam and I instantly had a connection and I pumped from day 1, making sure my little one only had the best that God had to offer and until this day, it is all he has had. Breast feeding is a struggle on its own, which I will get into more about later but with a baby in the NICU and only getting on average 2 hours a night of sleep, it was near impossible but with both my Husband and my Family's help, I pushed on.
Now I have a perfect baby boy, that you can't even tell was a preemie. He is my chunky (thanks to breast milk). I am a stay at home Mommy who does Mary Kay, Thirty One, Operations for K & D Distributing LLC (a company my Dad and I started), and some other business consulting on the side. My main goal is to love my Son, Husband, and God before anything else is done during the day!
Matt works for a large international company that's corporate headquarters is right here on the Eastern Shore. He works in big business negotiations and sales. He is envied by his wife because he has a flawless career that any BS in Business Graduate would kill to have. He has worked his butt off to get where he is at only 23 and I am so proud of all his accomplishments.
This all being said above! The only reason we are where we are today is because of God!!! God knows what our future holds and always knows what is best for us.
God prepped our family to only have one income before we knew we weren't going to have a choice in the matter when I was put on bed rest and we had a premature son!!
I hope you enjoy my blog!!!
God is absolutely amazing!!! God Bless!!!
